Who I Am
Dedicated and client oriented
Carl Stokes is an award-winning social worker, educator, and speaker living in the scenic Buffalo, New York with his family.
He is a tenured professor and chair of the social science department at SUNY Erie Community College (City Campus). His doctoral dissertation focuses on Black student-fathers in community colleges.
Carl is passionate about working to uplift the community. He especially loves mentoring fathers and helping them see their full potential. He also coordinates the parenting program at Family Help Center.
Carl also serves as the board president of Universal School, an Islamic school on Buffalo’s east side and as interim president of No Wound Untreated, a non-profit organization that offers support to people healing from trauma.
